OWNER/TENANT AGREEMENTS
There are a few notable changes to the Owner/Tenant Agreement for the 2008 water season.  From time to time certain property based elections are held by the District for which State law authorizes only one vote per acre of property.  The property owner is authorized to make this vote but may allow the tenant to exercise the voting right.  To assist with this, the District has included a Voting Authorization section on the Agreement to allow the Owner to transfer or retain voting rights on the property.
Also, in an effort to reduce the amount of paperwork to be completed, the Agreement now contains language that will allow the Agreement to extend beyond the current water year.  The Owner/Tenant Agreement will now only be required to be renewed annually if there are changes to the parties of the Agreement or when changes are made to the Agreement by the District.   Otherwise, the District will deliver water in accordance with the Agreement on file until written notice to revoke is received from the property owner.  It is the owner's sole responsibility to notify the District regarding any changes to the Agreement prior to any water orders.
APPLICATION FOR IRRIGATION WATER
The absence of the application in the mail packet sent out to customers this year is an effort to reduce the amount of paper consumed each irrigation season.  Therefore the Application for Irrigation Water will not be necessary for the 2008 irrigation season.  However, these applications may be reinstated for future irrigation season if deemed necessary.
